Course Introduction

For the academic year 2016/17, the first edition of the Intensive Course in "Energy Efficient Buildings" is activated at the University of Genoa (UNIGE), in its position of Erasmus+ MARUEEB Project Coordinator.

The course is organized by the International Relations Service of UNIGE, with academic tasks carried out by the Department of Mechanical, Energy, Management and Transportation Engineering (“DIME”) of the Polytechnic School of UNIGE, and with cooperation of “TICASS - Consortium for Innovative technologies for environmental monitoring and sustainable development.

The course, fully funded by the EACEA within the framework of the MARUEEB project, is aimed at retraining 20 junior teachers of the Project Partners Universities, headquartered in Armenia and in the Russian Federation. The trainees were selected through Applications Call.

Objective of the Course

The main objective of the Intensive Course in "Energy Efficient Buildings" is to provide, through a multidisciplinary approach, know-how, skills and specific competence to 20 (twenty) "junior" teaching staff units, who, afterwards, will join the academic tasks of the Master programmes to be established / improved.

Didactic organization of the Course

The Intensive Course is composed of the following sets:

- 1st training set, Genoa, from 10th October to 24th November 2016, 240 hrs of front-lectures equivalent to 24 ECTS;

- 2nd set by seminars and workshops to attend in Bratislava (Slovak Republic), 15-18 days, and Kaunas (Lithuania), 10 days, by April 2017;

- 3rd set by individual in-depth study, including internships with the AM & RU stakeholders, aimed at developing the research project work agreed in Genoa at the completing of the 1st set.

The ECTS will be recognized by UNIGE and assigned upon discussion of the research project work, during a ceremony in occasion of the MARUEEB coordination events.

Course Language: classes are held in English; the teaching materials adopted and delivered to the participants are in English.

Course organization and venue: International Relations Service at UNIGE. University classrooms (named “Pellitteri”, “Remotti”, “Mazzini”) located in the Rectorate Building, address: Via Balbi 5 – 16126 Genoa, Italy. Visits to external companies / plants have been organized too.
